<strong>School of Government at Luiss Guido Carli <\/strong>and <strong>United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) <\/strong>continue their partnership in the organization of a new edition of the <strong><u>Joint Master in Global<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>Public Diplomacy and Sustainable Development.<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <strong><u>precious support of the Italian Ministry of<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/u><\/strong> and through its combination of online and in-presence attendance, this Executive Master will provide <strong><u>30 highly selected African<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>diplomats<\/u><\/strong> with the following unique skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical understanding of key issues and concepts in world affairs and international relations with a focus on Africa;<\/li>\n<li>Advanced understanding of the European Union institutions and policies, with a specific focus on the role of Italy;<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of global and European policies and instruments associated with the UN Sustainable Development goals;<\/li>\n<li>Multicultural analytical skills and critical thinking supported by advanced pedagogy;<\/li>\n<li>Advanced experience in performing bilateral and multilateral working environments with increased confidence;<\/li>\n<li>Advance their careers in joining a broad group of alumni across the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Master is structured in the following three mandatory phases:<\/p>\n<h1>Phase 1: Online (March-June 2024)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Managed by UNITAR, this phase involves the completion of the following online courses on multilateral diplomacy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>International Diplomacy:\u00a0\u00a0 Theory\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 Practice\u00a0\u00a0 (self- paced)<\/li>\n<li>Public Diplomacy in a Multilateral World (self-paced)<\/li>\n<li>Conference Diplomacy, and Drafting Resolutions<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation Skills and Techniques<\/li>\n<li>Effective Writing in Multilateral Diplomacy<\/li>\n<li>Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette<\/li>\n<li>Digital Diplomacy<\/li>\n<li>Economic Diplomacy and Security<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Phase 2: Intensive in Presence School of Government \u2013 Luiss Guido Carli Rome (July 2024)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Organised by Luiss School of Government, selected diplomats will be attending a mandatory three weeks intensive program in Rome focusing on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Global and European Security Challanges<\/li>\n<li>Europe and Africa: Current and Future Policy Developments<\/li>\n<li>I taly and Africa: Current Policies and Future Developments<\/li>\n<li>Management of Global and Regional Economic Security<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and Managing Global Value Chains<\/li>\n<li>Business Innovation and Economic Growth<\/li>\n<li>Energy Policies and Management<\/li>\n<li>Security Issues\u00a0\u00a0 Connected\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 European\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 Global Trade<\/li>\n<li>Cybersecurity<\/li>\n<li>Food Security and Sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and Negotiation<\/li>\n<li>Public Speaking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Phase 3: Final Project Work (August-October 2024) <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong><u>Participation to this master is free for the selected<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>participants<\/u><\/strong><u>, <\/u><strong><u>inclusive travel and accommodation costs<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>to attend the in-presence module in Rome<\/u><\/strong> during the first three weeks of July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Participation to this master is open to 30 diplomats matching the following selection criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time member of the diplomatic staff of one of the 54 African countries;<\/li>\n<li>Holder of at least an undergraduate degree by the time of the application;<\/li>\n<li>Under the age of 40 by the time of the application;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of English with a minimum level of B2;<\/li>\n<li>Strong professional motivation for attending this Master;<\/li>\n<li>Currently being to posted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their country or posted at one of the following institutions: African Union, Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and Southern African Development Community
